In President Obama's Proclamation to Military Spouse Appreciation Day his respectable words illustrated the uniqueness of a military spouse. "Our service members and their families seldom ask for support or recognition. They carry out their duties to family and country with the quiet courage and strength that has always exemplified the American spirit."

No one will understand our job as military spouses unless they are put in our shoes. The life of a military spouse It is such a unique yet honoring situation that is almost impossible to explain unless you have lived it.

President Obama noted that, "When a member of our Armed Forces is deployed, an entire family is called to serve. The readiness of our troops depends on the readiness of our military families, as millions of parents, children, and loved ones sacrifice as well."

We do this because we support our country and love our soldiers, sailors, and airmen who courageously fight for our freedom so that we can continue to be the land of the free.

We are a rare special breed filled with what it takes to survive in any situation.

Here's to you, the one who waits, no matter the distance, no matter the time. Here's to you for putting on a brave face when the burden is there. Here's to you for seeing pride when times are though. Here's to you, the one who fights your own battle at home, between the tears and sleepless nights. Here's to you for your unconditional love, support, courage and sense of adventure. Here's to you for waving "good-bye: more often than not, who have heated up more dinners than most wives cook, who have missed more anniversaries, birthdays, Christmases and Valentine's Days than they should have. Here is to you for being a military spouse.
